Emmanuelle Chriqui and Adrian Bellani are developing a movie version of Christine Brae’s recently published romance-drama “In This Life,” Variety has learned exclusively.
“In This Life” is a complex love triangle that develops between a headstrong young doctor and the two men in her life as the doctor spends a few weeks in Thailand, taking on other people’s problems while getting away from her own. She meets an enigmatic man and thinks she’s got the perfect fling planned out but finds her life in New York City is no longer the way it once was when she returns home.
The book, written by Chicago-based author Christine Brae and the actors, who reside in Los Angeles, were connected via social media after Chriqui and Bellani discovered an early version of the book.
“In This Life” is Brae’s fourth book and her first title to be traditionally published and optioned for film and television. She is also the author of “The Light in the Wound,” “His Wounded Light” and “Insipid.”
Chriqui’s credits include “Entourage,” “Supertroopers 2” and “Shut Eye.” Bellani’s credits include “Moneyball,” “Person of Interest” and “Passions.”
